“Atithi Devo Bhava” an old Indian phrase whice translates to “guest is equivalent to god.” Hospitality has always been a part of Indian culture. At Live Dosa we have always welcomed our guests as part of our little family. We have always believed hospitality is more than just food and service. It is about creating relations.
We pride ourselves on our distinctively flavoured food from the coast of Kerala (South India) lovingly prepared by our chefs from scratch. Nothing prepared en masse, all food cooked to order with a blend of spices and herbs unique to every dish. We also offer a choice of beverages, carefully selected to complement the inimitable flavours of the food. We even source some of our wines from India, wines that not only match the strong peppery flavours of the curries but can also complement some of our milder, delicately flavoured curries.
With food also comes culture and tradition. We try to present a glimpse of our south Indian culture through various events like seafood festival, Bharatnatyam (Indian classical dance) Eve and festive celebrations like our Onam Sadhya.
Why not join us on this culinary journey and be a part of this small family called Live Dosa.
I've been to Live Dosa before and really enjoyed it. However our visit on 21st July was worthy of comment. 7 of us turned up without a booking and we were accommodated without a fuss. The Southern Indian menu is not the bog-standard curry house one and a lot of the dishes may be unfamiliar, but do not let this put you off. We bowed to the wisdom of our hosts, and they brought us a huge selection of food; chicken, lamb, beef, prawns, fish and vegetable dishes all made an appearance. And it was all spectacularly good, and a cut above any other Indian restaurant in Chelmsford. Do yourself a favour and go there, let them feed you - you won't regret it.

We went to Livedosa after reading the reviews and wanted to try something a little different from your normal Indian dishes, the dishes we had were very tasty, would go again to try something different, decor quite basic but fine, very reasonably priced, try it

Mouth watering dishes of Kerala (a beautiful state in the south of India) by very nice and friendly staff in a nice and comfortable place for a very reasonable price. When I used to work in an office closer to this restaurant, sometimes I took my lunch away from this restaurant. Yet every now and then when I miss the amazing taste of their excellent dishes, I go there with my friends. Wonderful place run by wonderful people.
